This piece was built from reclaimed white oak from a hand-hewn building in the mid-west – this wood was at least 100 years old. This is the epitome of a piece that is heirloom-quality, old world craftsmanship and highly functional.
Artistic-minded client with a sentimental attachment to this baby grand - she had learned to play the instrument as a small child. She had no desire to part with the piano after its sound board went out and seeking a unique means of incorporating the treasured family instrument into her home while re-purposing and making it functional as a bookshelf.

This piece was crafted from reclaimed fir with white oak butterflies. This is a nod to old world joinery when the “butterflies” were used to save a family heirloom from cracking and falling apart.

We were using very old reclaimed wood and trying to create something that look as though it had been made 100 years ago. The top is “book-matched.” We added hand-cut cabriole legs to give it a twist.
